The Job
NetherRealm Studios, a division of WB Games Inc., seeks a Designer to be responsible for significant contributions to game design with a focus on combat and moment-to-moment gameplay. This position works directly with the Lead Designer and fellow Designers to concept, implement, and maintain combat-centric systems, game balance, and character tuning. This position may also be required to assist or contribute to non-core gameplay features, such as additional game modes or meta systems, if needed.
The Designer will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of character navigation, combat mechanics, and other core gameplay features as required. Additionally, this position is responsible for assisting in the generation of animation shot lists and working with the Animation Department to help direct motion capture talent in shoots.
This position works closely with the Senior and Lead Game Designers to ensure that the overall design vision is being properly executed and communicated.
Within the studio, the Designer collaborates on design goals with the Lead Designer and Creative Director. This includes generating concept proposals for features, documenting feature and asset requirements for multiple disciplines, and implementing design using both script and editor based toolsets.

The Job
Netherrealm is looking for a video game software engineer to work on core technology for the Mortal Kombat franchise. As a software engineer in the KoreTech group, you will help us further extend and innovate key technology for our Unreal 4 based engine. You will utilize and extend your experience with a wide variety of engine tech, including memory management, animation, rendering, build tools, and more. The software engineer should have a passion for constantly exploring and mastering new areas of a video game engine. Tasks will range from graphics and animation work to toolset development and parallelism.
The Daily
Work with gameplay programmers and designers to implement technical solutions to help them meet project design goals.
Modify and extend core engine systems with a focus on future technology.
Work with artists and designers to implement editor functionality and improve overall workflow for the team.
Research and evaluate engine code to help identify and optimize bottlenecks.

As a Senior Advanced Graphics Engineer you will work closely with the Lead Engineer and the rest of your peers to develop state-of-the-art graphics technology for PS5, and XBOX Series X. Your domain will span the entire rendering pipeline and your responsibilities will include optimization, design, and implementation of pivotal new graphics technology.
In addition, as part of our highly collaborative engineering group, you will have ample opportunity to share your experience and expertise on the development of engineering systems across the entire codebase. Opportunities for involvement in the creative process will also present themselves regularly throughout the course of each project. This job will require close collaboration with the Lead Engineer on issues of technical design and the Senior Tech Artists as appropriate during implementation and roll-out of new features.
Design, author, maintain and document robust and highly optimized systems that meet all design, technical and schedule requirements
Work closely with QA and your technical leadership to ensure the stability and accuracy of your systems by identifying, communicating and resolving defects
Collaborate with technical leadership and other engineers to help establish overall technical design and architecture
Collaborate with Lead Engineer, Technical Art and Game Engineers to identify systems in need of optimization or replacement and on proposals of exciting new graphics technologies
Work closely with the production staff in building and maintaining realistic schedules and identifying dependencies
Coordinate with QA and leads to ensure successful roll out of new features to the team and establish testing and maintenance of systems

NetherRealm Studios, a division of WB Games Inc., is looking for an exceptionally skilled Senior Technical Animator to help set the bar for high end console character animation. The ideal candidate would have strong foundational animation skills and experience developing animation pipelines, tools and rigs, all the way from motion capture to in-game implementation.
Developing tools, defining best practices, character rigs, character skinning, and working with other internal teams to implement high quality character animation.
Help drive the adaptation of new technology, tools and workflows with a forward looking goal of delivering industry leading animation.
Produce in-game and cinematic animation content.
Work with Lead Technical Artist, Art Development Director and Studio Art Director to establish and maintain a high quality bar for animation.
