Some Videos from the Chicago Games Showcase

A few months ago, in conjunction with Indie City Games, we held the first successful Chicago Games Showcase. Here’s some video from the event:

Thanks to everyone who came out, and especially to Indie City Games for organizing this event with us!

MORE ABOUT the IGDA

The International Game Developers Association is the largest non-profit membership organization serving individuals who create video games. We bring together developers at conferences, in local chapters and in special interest groups to improve their lives and craft.

MORE ABOUT NOISEFLOOR

At NoiseFloor, we get it. Every sound tells a story.

It might be creating just the right footstep with baking soda and glass to make a video game feel more realistic. Pumping up the bass in a scene to create more tension. Panning a spaceship around a movie theater. Or finding just the right musical accent to make a TV audience cry.

We’ve got the ear. We’ve got the technology. We’ve got the space.

MORE ABOUT JOSH TSUI

As president of Robomodo, Josh Tsui overseas all functions of the studio, liaisons with publishers, and has input into internal operations. With eighteen years of AAA game production experience, Joshua has directed and managed large teams for publishers such as Electronic Arts, Microsoft, THQ and Midway Games. From the Mortal Kombat series to Fight Night Round 3 to the Tony Hawk® franchise, Josh has helped to give each project the competitive edge to stand out in a crowd and become hit games. With his experience as both a former co-owner of Studio Gigante, Inc., and a senior manager for Electronic Arts, Josh has the unique insight from both a developer and a publisher point-of-view.

Chicago Games Showcase is Tomorrow!

Saturday’s almost here, and that means the IGDA Chicago/Indie City Games “Chicago Games Showcase” is upon us!  Here are the details:

ATTENDEES

It costs nothing to attend the Chicago Games Showcase.  Just show up at 12pm, take a seat, and enjoy the show. We’re expecting a full house. We’ll have a 15 minute break around half way through the showcase where everyone can mingle.

PRESS

No press badges are necessary, however, we’d appreciate it if you came and said hello to the organizers when you come in!  We’ll all be wearing name badges, so we’ll be easy to pick out.

DEVELOPERS

Plan to make your presentation about 10 minutes, and be sure to bring your computer with a local copy of your game or project (just in case internet access is spotty.) Also note, the projector in the room uses a vga connection. Depending on attendance, we’ll organize for Q&A either after each presentation, or after everyone’s done showing.  We’re also planning on taking video of your presentations, so if you’d like us to withhold publishing anything on the internet, let us know.
If you haven’t registered to show your game, please do so in the following link so we can better organize the event.https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dHJCREZuQnY2ZEdyQzNxV25DcEZJZGc6MQ&ndplr=1
On behalf of both of our organizations, we look forward to seeing you at the event.  We’re truly excited to help bring the Chicago game developer community together, and hope you enjoy the show!
